Import requirements

Singapore applies its own excise and tax structure to imported wine. Excise is charged per litre of pure alcohol rather than by value, at S$88 per litre (about S$7.92 for a 0.75L bottle at 12% vol), with 9% GST due on the landed value including duty; wine carries no separate customs duty. Importers activate a Customs Account and file a duty and GST payment permit through TradeNet before release, and hold the Police Force liquor licence appropriate to their channel (Class 3A/3B for wholesale). Bonded and licensed warehousing lets stock be held under duty suspension until release, which supports the re-export trade: duty and GST fall due only on release into the local market.
